TNA president Dixie Carter says the future of Impact Wrestling will be revealed today
TNA Wrestling’s television future has been up in the air since July when TMZ.com reported that their current television partner — Spike TV — would not renew “Impact Wrestling”. It now looks like the wrestling promotion is about to announce a new home.

On Wednesday morning, TNA president Dixie Carter posted this message on Twitter:
What is the future of @IMPACTWRESTLING? TODAY it is revealed. Find out here first – http://t.co/vuPzmlYvOK

An announcement has been expected for weeks now but Carter is expected to reveal that TNA has reached a deal to air “Impact Wrestling” on Destination America. While it’s a plus that the company will remain a television, it will be on a channel available in fewer homes and one that doesn’t fit their demograhic as well.
Spike TV is currently available in nearly 100 million homes and focuses on a young, male demo which seems to fit perfectly with TNA Wrestling. While “Impact Wrestling” has done steady ratings there over averaging just over a million viewers per week, there has not been any growth for some time.
As for Destination America, just north of 50 million American households currently get that channel so TNA’s current audience would be almost cut in half.
Tonight’s edition of “Impact Wrestling” will be the last original edition shown on Spike TV. If more episodes air on the cable channel — which is up for debate — they would be “best of” shows.
