Brad Keselowski looking out for teammate Joey Logano
HOMESTEAD, Fla. — Brad Keselowski is not among the four drivers in contention for the Sprint Cup championship, but he does have a teammate and he’s willing to make sure that Joey Logano doesn’t feel alone.
In somewhat the same vein as his battle against the old guard, Keselowski tweeted about Kevin Harvick’s comment Wednesday that karma will come back to bite Logano, who blocked other drivers as Keselowski went on to win an elimination race at Talladega last month.
Am I missing something here? Karma for an act of unselfishness & kindness is good karma. @CopaCavanna @KevinHarvick @joeylogano

“(The Harvick jab) was definitely expected,” Keselowski said. “I just wanted to be there for my teammate and show that he is not at it all alone. I think he knows that.”

Logano could become the third-youngest Cup champion at age 24 and appeared to be the target of other drivers Wednesday as he sat on stage with championship contenders Harvick, Denny Hamlin and Ryan Newman.
“I just told Joey I had his back, whether that was Kevin, Denny, Ryan or some other guys,” Keselowski said. “I just wanted him to know I was there for him and support him.
“Other than that, he is a big guy. He knows how to race. He’s gotten to this level and to this point because of that.”

Logano shrugged off the Harvick comments.
“I am not here to play head games,” Logano said Wednesday. “I am here to win a race. They can play around as much as they want. I am having fun with this. This is really cool. It is an amazing opportunity to be here. I want to make sure I enjoy that.”
Early in his career, Logano was known for being intimidated — totally understandable for an 18-year-old entering Cup racing. He has had a few door-banging moments of his own (most notably with Hamlin and Tony Stewart) and has shown increased toughness since becoming Keselowski’s teammate in 2013.
“Joey has got to where he’s at right now for a reason,” Keselowski said. “He’s got a great team behind him with a really fast racecar.
“So does the 4 car (of Harvick). Those two are going to be the biggest threats come Sunday, and hopefully it will be Joey at the end.”
