Seahawks mascot offers apology for fan landing
There have been a lot of apologies in the NFL this year but perhaps none as strange as this one.
Taima, the augur hawk who is the mascot of the Seattle Seahawks, got loose on Sunday while flying over the field, as is routine before home games at CenturyLink Field. Taima swooped down and ended up perched atop the head of a slightly rattled fan. The incident was a bit of levity and no one was hurt – not the fan and more importantly (let’s be honest here) not Taima.
But in today’s NFL, one can never be too careful about such things and so the Seahawks released a statement on their mascot’s behalf:
Sincere, heartfelt stuff from Taima. Finally an apology from someone in the NFL that isn’t for the birds. Are you taking notes Roger Goodell?
