A-Rod won’t be starting 3B, if Yankees signs Headley or another FA
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(3:01 pm ET) It appears the Yankees concern about Alex Rodriguez returning to an everyday role at third base in 2015 are very real. General manager Brian Cashman said Tuesday if the team signs Chase Headley or another third baseman, then that player “would be our starting third baseman,” per the New York Daily News.
There have been reports the Yankees are very interested in bringing back Headley because they don’t feel Rodriguez will be able to play third base on an everyday basis. The concerns appear to be over Rodriguez’s age (39) and durability issues. He hasn’t played more than 140 games since 2007. He missed the 2014 campaign due to a season-long suspension.
