Nick Saban, Les Miles share a personal moment before game
Prior to Saturday’s pivotal and hard-fought SEC game between Alabama and LSU, coaches Nick Saban and Les Miles met at midfield to have a little chat about their mothers.
Miles’ 91-year-old mom passed away the night before the Tigers’ win against Ole Miss and at some point afterward Saban sent his condolences to LSU’s coach.
So Miles wanted let Saban know he appreciated the kind words.
“You know, it hit me because I was with my mother in Tennessee when [I heard],” Saban told Miles. “So, God bless you.”
“She’s sitting up there watching,” Miles responded. “We got another rooter upstairs, I just want you to know.”
It’s a pretty great moment between two longtime competitors, especially prior to a game that meant so much to both of their seasons.
