Missouri CB Aarion Penton suspended after marijuana arrest
Missouri suspended cornerback Aarion Penton indefinitely Friday after Penton was arrested for marijuana possession.
Penton, a starter, was arrested on Missouri’s campus early Friday morning for possession of less than 35 grams of marijuana, a misdemeanor. Missouri was off on Saturday and plays on November 15 at Texas A&M. It’s not known if he will be reinstated in time for the game.
He has 30 tackles and three interceptions on the season. It’s also his second marijuana-related arrest of the year. Penton was arrested in March for marijuana possession with two Missouri basketball players.
If Penton is not reinstated before the game against the Aggies, Missouri will be without two of its top defensive backs for the first half. Safety Braylon Webb, who has four interceptions and has been the linchpin of Missouri’s secondary, is set to miss the first half because of a targeting penalty he received against Kentucky.
After Texas A&M quarterback Kyle Allen’s great day against Auburn, suddenly the first 30 minutes looks a bit more daunting for Mizzou.
