Check out the highlights of our MVP picks at the NFL’s midseason point
We couldn’t decide on one NFL MVP at the midway point of the season, so we had to pick two.
Two of our Shutdown Corner writers are all in on New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, who has won the award twice in his illustrious career (see that pick and all our other midseason awards here).
The other pick … Peyton Manning? Nope.
Try J.J. Watt, the defensive monster in Houston.
Who are you voting for at the NFL’s midpoint? The quarterback, the defensive player or someone else? Here’s a look at some of the impressive plays from Brady and Watt season.

Tom Brady
Among the plays: An animated touchdown celebration with Rob Gronkowski. Another spectacular grab by Gronkowski that gave Brady his 62nd career 300-yard game, which tied Brady with Brett Favre for fourth-most in NFL history. Beating up on the Bills and Jets. Hitting the 50,021 passing yards milestone, sixth most among NFL QBs, on another pass to Gronk. Getting the best of Peyton’s team in New England’s big matchup vs. the Broncos.
J.J. Watt
Among the plays: Good hands as a receiver against the Raiders. Two defensive scores. Teaching a rookie a lesson on taking selfies. And an obliteration of a team in the season opener.
