Madison Bumgarner gifts Jimmy Fallon a pair of ‘Mad Bum’ underpants
San Francisco Giants ace left-hander Madison Bumgarner tried, though he didn’t seem all that comfortable as a talk-show guest in a stint during “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” on Monday night. He let Fallon play the excitable one, especially when trying on a pair of “Mad Bum” underwear over his pants. Thankfully, it was over his pants; Bumgarner might have passed out from extreme bashfulness if Fallon had removed his pants first.
Bumgarner had some good lines, like how the heckling and booing fans at Kauffman Stadium during Game 7 of the World Series made him want to curl up into a ball and cry (but not really), and how he’s just a good ol’ country boy with a pickup truck, just like anyone else trying to make it in this world (including Fallon himself, apparently).
Bumgarner also brought with him the Commissioner’s Trophy, which is a pretty memento but looks fragile compared to the Stanley Cup. Still, the prop gave MadBum his best line of the show:
“I keep it in my truck at all times,” Bumgarner said.
