Do you want to look like Joe Maddon? Sure, we all do! Buy these glasses? OK!
Halloween might be over, but that’s no reason fans of Chicago Cubs manager Joe Maddon can’t continue going through life trying to look like him. To that end, a shop across the street from Wrigley Field is selling the horn-rimmed glasses that help to make Maddon’s face one of the more iconic kissers in Major League Baseball.
The Cubs introduced Maddon as their 54th manager Monday and by Tuesday there might be thousands of Maddon clones walking around the North Side of Chicago — but it only happens with the glasses.
Buying a jersey with the No. 70 is one thing. A certain amount of product in your silver hair is another. But no Maddon look is complete without the Ray-Bans. And the cost? Only $4.95!
Ah, there he is. Maddon’s look is versatile, too:
Maddon referred to the motor home, nicknamed “Cousin Eddie,” that helped bring him and the Cubs together. And Maddon himself is not afraid to look like Cousin Eddie from the “Vacation” franchise.
Of course, the best thing about dressing up like Joe Maddon — it’s only a short step to dressing like a leaner, hipper Harry Caray. If the Cubs win a World Series while affecting this look, fans will have reached nirvana.
