College football: As expected, Torrance Gibson picks Ohio State – Columbus Dispatch
Torrance Gibson, a blue-chip quarterback-athlete from Fort Lauderdale (American Heritage), Fla., pledged to the Ohio State 2015 recruiting class today. Or as the American Heritage Twitter feed put it, “Torrance Gibson has committed to Ohio State.”
Though Gibson’s finalists were OSU, Louisiana State and Central Florida, recruiting analysts listed him as a heavy lean to the Buckeyes for a while.
The 6-foot-4, 200-pound speedy left-hander is considered the No.62 overall prospect nationally by 247sports.com, the No.6 “athlete” by rivals.com but No.103 overall prospect.
Gibson has rushed for 563 yards and passed for 995 this season and is responsible for 18 touchdowns, seven of them by the run. Last season he passed for 1,864 yards and 19 TDs,and rushed for 1,032 and 10 TDs while leading the Patriots to their first state championship.
