Bumgarner wanted to ride horse in WS parade
Two facts of note: The Giants won the 2014 World Series, and ace Madison Bumgarner had much to do with their winning the 2014 World Series. Regarding that and regarding the Giants’ recent victory parade, there’s this from Matier and Ross:
As high fives and knuckle knocks were exchanged, the cops gave Bumgarner the usual lines: “Great series,” “One in a million” — and, of course, the obligatory, “If there is anything we can do for you, just let us know.”
At which point, Bumgarner looked over at the line of police horses and said, “Anything? How ’bout you letting me ride one of them horses in the parade?”
So Bumgarner, who is both Country Strong and Country Smart, asked to ride a police horse in the parade. The request was quite sensibly denied, but Bumgarner, in a soaring compromise, was allowed to take have a picture taken of him while atop a steed.
The link above has said picture. Here’s an entirely different sort of picture …
This has been a story about Madison Bumgarner’s asking to ride a police horse. This has also been your Eye On Baseball Awful, Lamentably Amateurish Photoshop of the DayTM.
