Washington State QB Connor Halliday carted off field (GIF)
Washington State’s Connor Halliday, the nation’s leader in passing yards, went down with what appears to be a serious right leg injury in the first half against USC.
The senior dropped back and hit Vince Mayle for a 14-yard gain, only to be hit and spun awkwardly by Trojans defensive end Leonard Williams.
Halliday was immediately writhing on the ground and yelling in pain. It looked like an air cast was placed on his leg before being carted off the field.
If the injury is as serious as it appears, it could end Halliday’s career.
Entering the game, Halliday led the country with 3,833 yards passing and 32 touchdown passes. Earlier in the season, he set an FBS record with 734 yards passing against Cal.
With Halliday out, redshirt freshman Luke Falk came on in relief at quarterback for the Cougars.
