Tony Romo a game-time decision, says Jerry Jones
Tony Romo was able to gut it out — with the help of a painkiller shot — and return to the game on Monday night, but the Dallas quarterback will be a game-time decision for Sunday’s game against Arizona.
Owner Jerry Jones said on his radio show Wednesday that Romo’s back injury won’t end his season, but he’s not an automatic go to face the Cardinals. Romo is coming off his third back injury in 18 months, including surgery in December.

Jones said that the decision could come down to Romo’s pain tolerance. He was officially diagnosed with a contusion after taking a knee to the back in the third quarter of the Cowboys’ 20-17 overtime loss to the Redskins. Romo was treated by the Dallas medical staff before returning to the game after much persistence.
Jones reiterated that the injury isn’t related to a herniated disk that led to surgery after a game against Washington last December. Jones also said the latest injury is unrelated to a cyst removal from Romo’s back in April 2013.
If Romo is unable to play, Brandon Weeden, who led Dallas to two scores in Romo’s absence, would be the starter.
