NFL Week 8 Picks: Latest Spreads and Predictions for Every Game – Bleacher Report
Week 8 is already underway, which means we’re one weekend slate away from passing the midway point of the NFL season—shocking as that may be.
While a handful of teams have already established themselves as playoff hopefuls or contenders for the top draft pick, plenty of work is left to be done for others in the middle of the pack. The playoff race is still wide open in a number of divisions, and teams will begin to push for those spots this weekend.
Here’s a breakdown of the latest odds and picks for Week 8.

Top Favorite Pick: Colts (-1.5) over Steelers
The Indianapolis Colts are one of five road teams to be marked as a favorite for Week 8. And despite facing perhaps the toughest opponent of any, the Colts are the biggest locks to take care of business.
Indy will take its five-game winning streak into Pittsburgh for a meeting with the Steelers, who got back in the win column and improved to 4-3 with a Monday Night Football win over the Houston Texans.
The Colts will also have to face those famous—or awful, depending on your fashion sense—Steelers throwback jerseys Sunday, per Uni-Watch.com’s Phil Hecklen:

But the Steelers will need a lot more than spiffy uniforms to win this one.
The Colts have been practically unbeatable as of late, with Andrew Luck leading the league in passing and the defense proving nasty in recent weeks. It shut out the Bengals in Week 7 and ranks in the top 10 against both the run and pass.
But while the defense has turned heads, the bread and butter of this team is Luck and an elite passing attack.

“You guys see what we see,” Steelers safety Troy Polamalu told ESPN.com’s Scott Brown. “He’s smart, he’s accurate, he’s got great escapability. He’s got two super-talented wide receivers, he’s got two tough backs that run the rock hard and he’s got a defense that does a good job of getting off the field fast.”
Pittsburgh has a decent secondary and the defense ranks 13th in pass defense, but the toughest quarterbacks faced have been Brian Hoyer and Joe Flacco. Luck has weapons in T.Y. Hilton and Reggie Wayne who should create separation from Steeler defensive backs.
What’s more, Ahmad Bradshaw and Trent Richardson have been pounding the rock with ease lately. That will continue against a Steelers defense that gives up 4.4 yards per rush.
Prediction: Colts 28, Steelers 17
Top Underdog Pick: Eagles (+2.5) over Cardinals

Two teams that entered 2014 with expectations to take that next step toward Super Bowl-contending status will each get a chance to continue its ascension when the Eagles flock to the desert to face the Cardinals.
Chip Kelly’s Eagles will come into this one fresh after enjoying a Week 7 bye. The Cardinals might have thought they could cruise playing the Raiders in Week 7, but a 24-13 road win proved more hard fought than expected.
Quarterback Nick Foles looks to have a big day against the Cardinals’ struggling secondary, which is giving up 285 yards per game, second to last in the NFL. Foles and the Eagles passing game ranks seventh in the league (262.3 yards)
Of course, Arizona QB Carson Palmer has thrown for at least two touchdowns in every game he’s started, and Andre Ellington has been strong on the ground for the Cardinals. But those will both change on Sunday, with the Cardinals offensive line—ranked 25th by FootballOutsiders.com—struggling so much.
The Eagles have the edge on both sides of the ball, and they’ll make a statement to the rest of the NFC with a big road win.
Prediction: Eagles 27, Cardinals 20
