Last Minute Decisions: Injury Questions: Week 8
Sunday, October 26, 2014
Welcome to Week 8 of the National Football League, Fantasy Division. There are a few game-time decisions, but for the most part we’re fairly set on who’s in and who’s out this week. Take a look-see and get those lineups set.
For lineup decisions let Pat Daugherty help you out with his Week 8 Rankings. For sleepers let Nick Mensio give you the scoop in his latest. And always be sure to read Evan Silva’s detailed look at every game in his Matchups column.

9:30 AM GAME
Lions vs. Falcons (in London)
* Reggie Bush (ankle) didn’t practice all week and is listed as doubtful. Joique Bell will get the start with Theo Riddick (hamstring) as RB2 after practicing this week.
* The Lions tight ends are all hurting, with Brandon Pettigrew (foot) listed as doubtful and Eric Ebron (hamstring) and Joseph Fauria (ankle) as out.
* Calvin Johnson (ankle) is listed as questionable after getting in three limited practices. He looked to be a game-time decision, but ESPN’s Ed Werder is now reporting they will hold him out to give him the Week 9 bye to fully recover. This of course isn’t a lock, so you might want to set your alarm to hit up Rotoworld for the latest Sunday Morning.
* Harry Douglas (foot) is listed as questionable and will be a game time decision, but I wouldn’t wake up at 6 a.m. on the west coast for Douglas, but I would for Megatron.
1 PM GAMES
Seahawks at Panthers
* Zach Miller (ankle) is out, but Luke (Don’t Call Me Hansel) Willson is probable after practicing in full.
* Running backs Fozzy Whittaker (thigh) and DeAngelo Williams (ankle) are out while Chris Ogbonnaya (groin) is questionable. Jonathan Stewart will get the start, but the Panthers will be without their two starting guards, LG Amini Silatolu (calf) and RG Trai Turner (knee/ankle).
Ravens at Bengals
* Owen Daniels (knee) is out after having arthroscopic surgery. Rookie Crockett Gillmore will get the start.
* The Ravens are getting LG Kelechi Osemele (knee) and LT Eugene Monroe (knee) back this week.
* A.J. Green (toe) is doubtful after missing practice all week. Beat reporter Paul Dehner believes “Green likely won’t be 100 percent at any point during the year.” If that’s true then Mohamed Sanu gets a big bump for the season.
Dolphins at Jaguars
* Toby Gerhart (foot) practiced in full Thursday and Friday and will play, but not start against the Dolphins after Denard Robinson won the starting job after a strong Week 7.
Rams at Chiefs
* Travis Kelce (ribs) was limited all week, but received the probable tag and should be able to go.
* Donnie Avery (groin) is out.
Bears at Patriots
* Shane Vereen (illness) is listed as questionable after he missed Friday’s practice. This is an early game so we will know for sure if he’s active or not before setting our lineups.
Bills at Jets
* Fred Jackson (knee) was officially ruled out and C.J. Spiller (broken collarbone) was put on injured reserve/designated to return. Anthony Dixon looks to be the lead back in relief with Bryce Brown as his running mate.
* Marquise Goodwin (hamstring) is doubtful. Chris Hogan will continue to be the #3 receiver.
Vikings at Buccaneers
* Vincent Jackson (ribs) is listed as questionable after getting in limited practices Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. He is expected to play, but be sure to keep an eye on his status.
Texans at Titans
* Jake Locker (thumb) is probable, but rookie Zach Mettenberger has gotten the call to start this week.
* Shonn Greene (hamstring) is listed as probable and will suit up this week. Bishop Sankey should remain the lead back, but this looks to be a situation to be cautious with for the time being.
4PM GAMES
Eagles at Cardinals
* Darren Sproles (knee) is listed as questionable after getting limited practices in all week, but looks like he’ll be able to go.
Raiders at Browns
* There are no fantasy relevant injuries to report.
Colts at Steelers
* Reggie Wayne (elbow) is has been ruled out against the Steelers. His replacement will either be Donte Moncrief or Hakeem Nicks or a mixture of the two, but Moncrief did have more snaps in Week 7.
* Trent Richardson (hamstring) is listed as questionable and looks to be a game-time decision. If he can’t go Dan Herron would see some of his work, while Ahmad Bradshaw would get a boost in looks.
SUNDAY NIGHT
Packers at Saints
* Khiry Robinson (forearm) and Pierre Thomas (rib, shoulder) are out this week, which should give a boost to Mark Ingram and Travaris Cadet.
* Jimmy Graham (shoulder) is listed as questionable after getting in limited practices all week. He should go and get more targets than his two last week, but still isn’t your de facto #1 tight end.
MONDAY NIGHT
Washington at Dallas
* Robert Griffin III (ankle) returned to practice this week, but Colt McCoy will get the start in Dallas.
