Tottenham’s Erik Lamela goes ‘Rabona’ for goal of the year
Erik Lamela, attacking midfielder for Tottenham Hotspur, scored one of the most impossibly absurd goals in the past 20 years on Thursday in a Europa League match against Greek side Asteris Tripolis.
At first glance, it looks like Lamela scores on a rather mundane goal from the top of the box. But look again. LOOK AGAIN!

In the soccer world, this type of shot is known as “The Rabona,” when a player strikes the ball using their strong foot crossed behind their weak foot.
It is typically only used in close quarters, which makes this strike from 15 yards out so magically unfathomable.
