Giggs’ win record on verge of being broken
Diego Costa to miss United trip
Sao Paulo goalkeeper Rogerio Ceni is on the verge of breaking Ryan Giggs’ world record for most victories with a single club.
Giggs, who spent 24 seasons as a member of the Manchester United first-team squad, racked up a total of 589 wins with the club.

However, Ceni, 41, has matched that feat with Sao Paulo and is one victory away from making the record his own.
The former Brazil international had the opportunity do so on Wednesday night, yet his side could only draw 0-0 at Chapecoense in the Brasileirao.
Ceni, however, can claim a landmark 590th win and surpass Giggs – now United’s assistant coach – on Monday when Sao Paulo take on Goias.
He has until December to secure the record when he is due to retire, although he is already the highest-scoring goalkeeper in history with 123 goals, having taken both free kicks and penalties throughout his career.
Giggs is the holder of a number of other world records, including having the most Premier League appearances, most Premier League assists and most Champions League appearances, while he is also the oldest player to score in Europe’s elite club competition.
