Division II QB throws 47-yard touchdown pass to himself (Video)
Division II North Greenville QB Nelson Hughes joined an exclusive club of quarterbacks with a touchdown pass and reception in the same game on Saturday against Mars Hill. And to make his feat even more rare, his touchdown pass was from himself.
Hughes’ pass at his own 47-yard-line was deflected and batted back to him. He caught it and then the fun began.
Neslon took off to the right, but had nowhere to go. He made a sharp cut back to the left, causing two defenders to miss a tackle. From there, he had blocking lined up along the left side and sprinted into the end zone. It’s a run that’s highlight worthy on its own even without the batted pass.
However, North Greenville lost the game 30-27.
