Earnhardt is part of a campaign by the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Sports Medicine Concussion Program to educate athletes about treatment for concussions.
The healthcare provider has launched a website to increase awareness on concussion treatment.
Earnhardt was a patient of the program in 2012 when he suffered two concussions in six weeks and missed two races.
He did a testimonial video for the campaign, and part of the video will be used in television ads later this month.
