Former Gamecocks QB Steven Garcia: SEC schools have players receiving cash
Former South Carolina quarterback Steven Garcia didn’t hold back.
Garcia spoke with “The Mac Attack” on 610 AM WFNZ Charlotte on Thursday, and the former Gamecocks quarterback suggested multiple SEC programs have players receiving cash.
“I guarantee there are players getting some handshakes with some cash in them,” Garcia said.

Garcia, now an analyst for Saturday Down South, said that list excludes Vanderbilt and Kentucky.
Garcia also said he knew of one instance where a player earned, “$160 thousand for autographs and stuff” in a single season.
Garcia weighed in on the current controversies with Georgia running back Todd Gurley and Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston in the interview, and he pointed out the hypocrisy of the situation.

“These guys are bringing in so much money there is no way the NCAA is going to screw that up for themselves,” he said.
