Bo Jackson: Jameis Winston ‘needs to make some changes in his life’
Jameis Winston said during Florida State’s baseball season he’d like to follow Bo Jackson’s career path as a two-sport star. That seems to be the only thing he wants to follow when it comes to Jackson.
Jackson told CBS Sports Radio’s Jim Rome he stopped counseling Winston after the Heisman-winning quarterback was cited for shoplifting crab legs from a Tallahassee supermarket.

“I’m the type of person, I will go out of my way to help anybody,” Jackson told Rome. “Normally, I don’t like giving people advice if I haven’t been down that road myself. But if I give you advice on something that I know more about than you by just falling out of bed in the morning, if you can’t take that advice and learn from it, then I’ve got nothing else to do with the situation. You’re on your own.”
Without going into specifics, Jackson told Rome he didn’t hold back when communicated with Winston.
“If I told you what I told him it would probably singe the hairs in your ears,” Jackson said.
Jackson made it clear he does not like what he’s seeing from his fellow Alabamian.
“Jameis Winston needs to make some changes in his life,” Jackson told Rome, “because it’s affecting him now and it’s definitely going to affect him down the road.”
