Arsenal are the most expensive team in Europe to watch, according to a new survey.
The latest BBC Sport Price of Football study also showed that the Manchester clubs, United and City, sell the most expensive replica shirts, but the current Premier League champions do have the cheapest season tickets.
The cost of watching football has risen by almost twice the rate of inflation since 2011, with fans of Premier League clubs now paying almost four times more for a season ticket than their counterparts in Germany.

Arsenal’s season tickets range from £1,014 to £2,013, while they also have the most expensive match-day ticket in the Premier League at £97 – down £29 on last season but still more than double the most expensive match-day ticket at seven other Premier League clubs. The cheapest season ticket at the Emirates is more than 17 Premier League clubs charge for their most expensive one.
The survey also revealed that the average price of the cheapest match-day ticket across all four English divisions is £21.49, up 13% since 2011 compared to a 6.8% increase in the cost of living.
The average Premier League season ticket costs £508, compared to £138 in the Bundesliga. Bayern Munich fans can pay as little as £109.65, while in Spain Barcelona fans can get a season ticket for £103.38.
Manchester City have the cheapest season tickets in the Premier League, with prices starting at £299.
The price of the cheapest match-day ticket in the Premier League has risen by 15.8%, 31.7% in League One and 19% in League Two. Only in the Championship has it dropped, by 3.2%.
Of all the Premier League clubs’ cheapest match-day tickets, Chelsea’s is the highest at £50. Newcastle offer the best price at £15.
Derby and Sheffield Wednesday, both in the Championship, boast £10 match-day tickets – the cheapest in English football and matched only by Southport in the Conference among full-time clubs.
The study also shows the average price of the cheapest match-day ticket in the Scottish top flight has increased by almost 8% since 2011, up from £18.92 to £20.42.
Among the survey’s other findings are that United and City sell replica shirts at £55 a piece, while the most expensive cups of tea – costing £2.50 – can also be found at Old Trafford, as well as Liverpool and Southampton.
