Adrian Peterson pleads not guilty, awaits hearing
Adrian Peterson entered a not guilty plea Tuesday to child abuse charges.
Peterson’s case has been delayed due to an attempt by Montgomery County District Attorney Brett Ligon to have Judge Kelly Case removed from the case because of an alleged bias.
However, Case has not recused himself. The hearing is scheduled for Wednesday.
Adrian Peterson’s lawyer Rusty Hardin says they will talk to judge today about pushing back tomorrow’s hearing day.

Last week, Peterson, according to court documents, admitted to a staffer that he’d used marijuana, violating his bond agreement if he tested positive. Prosecutors are asking that Peterson again be arrested.
Peterson has a Dec. 1 tentative trial date. He’d like to rush to that date with the hope of playing football again this season, but going to trial that quickly could put his case in legal jeopardy.
Peterson faces charges of reckless or negligent injury for punishing his 4-year-old son with a switch, causing bodily harm. The Minnesota Vikings running back is on the exempt/commissioner’s permission list. He will continue to be paid while his case remains active.
