Chalmers: Irving will have to adjust to LeBron

Miami Heat guard Mario Chalmers told the Cleveland Plain Dealer‘s Chris Haynes that LeBron James is demanding and Cleveland Cavaliers guard Kyrie Irving will have to get used to it, but he didn’t want to go into detail about what it was like when James yelled at him.
“LeBron is a dominant player so if he feels like something is not going his way, he’s going to say something about it,” Chalmers told Northeast Ohio Media Group. “For Kyrie, he’s going to have to adjust to that and LeBron is going to have to adjust to Kyrie. It’s going to be a different factor for Kyrie.”
…
Chalmers refused to elaborate on what it was like when a furious James was approaching and you knew he wasn’t coming to give a hug.
“Man, that process is over and done with it,” Chalmers said. “It’s a fresh start, fresh team, new year.”
He then took it a step further and claimed to have amnesia.
“I don’t even remember, bro,” he said. “Last year is in the past. This is a new year. New me. I’m not thinking about it.”
Chalmers is a confident guy, and he’s aware that he’s often seen as a punching bag. It’s understandable that he doesn’t want to talk about that, but it’s hilarious that he’d claim to have forgotten about it.
As for Irving and James, that will be interesting. Let’s rewind to what James said after the Cavs’ first day of training camp, via ESPN’s Dave McMenamin:
“I’ll probably handle the ball a little bit, but this is Kyrie [Irving]’s show,” James said Saturday after the team’s first practice of training camp. “He’s our point guard. He’s our floor general, and we need him to put us in position to succeed offensively. He has to demand that and command that from us with him handling the ball.”
James added that playing with a point guard who can take over games was part of the reason he chose to come to Cleveland. The two were friends before Irving came into the league, and James said recently that Irving has the potential to be the best player at his position. He’s expecting a lot.
