Northwestern unveils new ‘gothic’ uniforms for Nebraska game (Photos)
For its October 18 homecoming game against Nebraska, Northwestern will wear new uniforms with a pretty unique look.
The uniform combination is called “Northwestern Gothic,” and is supposed to be a reflection of Northwestern’s campus. It has a black, purple and gold color scheme that dates back to the school’s old colors before purple became the school’s official color.
According to a release from the school, “the arches on the shoulder are reflective of the architecture throughout campus” while the jersey and pants “both have ivy detailing like so many of the structures throughout the University.”
The Wildcats are coming off back-to-back impressive wins over Penn State and Wisconsin after struggling to a 1-2 start to the season. Pat Fitzgerald’s team, now 3-2, will travel to Minnesota Saturday to take on the Gophers.
