Eric Hosmer brought everybody drinks after Royals advanced to ALCS
Eric Hosmer came through again for the Kansas City Royals in Game 3 of the ALDS on Sunday night, hitting a two-run homer in the third inning that seemed put the game out of reach early. The Royals won 8-3, sweeping the Los Angeles Angels and advancing to the ALCS.
Then Hosmer came through for Royals fans. After the celebration ended at Kauffman Field, the Royals moved their party to McFadden’s Sports Saloon, a local bar. This wasn’t a team-only shindig, however. Hosmer invited the 68,000 people who follow him on Twitter (and anybody who happened to see a retweet) to join him and his teammates.
Upon getting to the bar, Hosmer whipped out his credit card and paid for everybody’s drinks for an hour, so all the Royals fans didn’t have to dig into their own pockets. Champagne was sprayed all over, like the bar was the Royals’ clubhouse.
Here’s a news report from Kansas City TV station KSHB with party footage:
Royals fans have a lot of pent-up partying to unleash after not making the postseason for 29 years. If the team keeps its winning ways going and beats the Baltimore Orioles to advance to the World Series, they’re going to need a few more credit cards.
