How much does NHL Center Ice cost for 2014-15?
The 2014-15 NHL season begins on Wednesday, and you know what that means: Frantically calling your local cable provider to snag NHL Center Ice, that glorious out-of-market subscription package that provides Vancouver vs. whomever games to those on the East Coast staggering in at midnight.
We’ve got some details on this year’s deal:
– Center Ice, which is provided by INDEMAND, has a suggested retail “Early Bird” price (by Oct. 31) of $159.96, or four installments of $39.99. That’s the same price as last season, so let’s hear it for consistency!
– As usual, there are 40 out of market games available, with the usual local and nationa blackout restrictions.
– There’s an 18-day free preview of the service starting on Oct. 8.
– They’re bringing back the usual bells and whistles: Mosaic multi-screen channel, same-day replays and home and away feeds.
– It’s available on Comcast Xfinity, Time Warner Cable, Cox Communications, Bright House Networks, Verizon FiOS, Cablevision Systems, Charter Communications, RCN, as well as other video providers.
We’re going to have a big feature on the NHL’s new Game Center Live on Monday, which we’re sure some of you will be using as an alternative to NHLCI this season.
