Antrel Rolle says Prince Amukamara playing well due to … marital relations
New York Giants cornerback Prince Amukamara is showing signs of a breakout in his fourth season, and Giants safety Antrel Rolle believes he knows why.
Amukamara got married in the offseason, so Rolle told the New York Daily News that he thinks Amukamara having sex with his wife is helping his play on the field.
Yes, he actually said that.
Amukamara had abstained from premarital sex due to religious beliefs, the Daily News wrote. Amukamara was open about being a virgin, he told Muscle and Fitness magazine in 2013.
Amukamara has two interceptions this season after having just three in his first three seasons combined.
“I think it all ties into one another, as far as him getting married, being able to [have sex],” Rolle told the Daily News. “He’s just developing more as a man and accepting challenges and being the dominant player that we need him to be that we know he’s capable of.”
Oh, Rolle wasn’t finished explaining.
“For a man, that could definitely help him out. For a man … I’m just being honest … it’s helping him out. He walks around with a little more swagger, which is something that we need, which is something that we love,” Rolle said.
Well that’s not awkward or anything.
The old story with sex and sports is that sex is bad for athletes. The great boxer Muhammad Ali reportedly went two months before fights without having sex, believing it made him unbeatable in the ring. Others have abstained before big games. Apparently the opposite is true for Amukamara. At least, Rolle thinks that’s the case.

Maybe all these athletes have been abstaining before big games or fights for no reason at all.
